IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU! (at least it should be)
Many people who think about moving, or have decided to move, start their new house search by going to MLS or driving through neighborhoods.
When they find a home that they would like information about, they may contact the Realtor whose name is on that listing, whether it's online or on a sign.
That's definitely one way to do it HOWEVER, there is something you should think about BEFORE you contact that Realtor.
The Realtor who is listing that house is working for the Seller of that house. They are, and should be, looking out for the Sellers best interests first and foremost, which means that they are trying to sell that house as quickly as possible and for the best price possible. That's exactly what YOU should want when you're selling a house. Someone who is working for YOU! This is a good thing.
However, by contacting that Realtor, do you think that this is in YOUR best interest as a buyer?
No, of course it isn't.
Even as a buyer, YOU want someone who will be working for YOU - looking out for YOUR best interests, correct?
So how do you get someone to work for YOU alone? You hire your own Realtor! You find a Realtor that you like, that you trust, and you hire that person who will then work for YOU, as a BUYER! They will do all the work for YOU by looking for the house YOU want, with the criteria YOU are looking for, in the area YOU want to live. They will send YOU homes that match that criteria so YOU don't have to weed through all the homes just to find ones that are suited to YOU. They will set up appointments for YOU to view the home, in private, with your Realtor, at a time that is suitable for YOU. They will do any and all negotiations for YOU to get you the best deal possible. They will do all the paperwork for YOU. They will be there, with YOU, every step of the way to answer all of your questions. Working with your own Realtor makes the process ALL ABOUT YOU, and isn't that the way it should be?
